ABOUT ME!

Growing up, I had two very different interests. One was a fascination for the special forces, and the other was acting. I watched Rambo when I was 12, and after that, I wanted to be a Green Beret. But the other thing I always secretly wanted to be was an actor. I used to film goofy skits in which I played all the characters, between bouts of reading special forces war stories. Six years later, scholarship offers kicked opened the door for both of these life goals, and I had a hard choice to make.

During my senior year of high school, I was offered an ROTC scholarship to Austin Peay University; however, I also received a scholarship to the New York Film Academy (NYFA), with the assistance of my amazing parents. Though I knew the debt-free college route would be the safe bet, I decided that if I didn’t try acting now, I never would. I worked two full-time jobs for two years in order to save up enough money, and then I moved to NYC. After a year at NYFA, I enrolled in the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater - home of the Meisner Technique, and the long-time base for legends Sanford Meisner and Martha Graham. I received top-notch tutelage from Mr. James Brill and Mr. Richard Pinter, as well as many other excellent teachers.

I am from a small town called Lewisburg, in Middle Tennessee. Now that I live in a concrete jungle, I realize that I took the open space of the country completely for granted. Davy Crockett was my childhood hero.

I was homeschooled all the way through high school along with my twin sisters. We engaged in Horseback Riding, Community Theater, Civil War reenacting (I was the drummer), boxing and various Martial Arts ( I achieved the rank of black belt in Taekwondo, along with lesser belts in Hapkido and Judo).

Over the past few years I have had the chance to hone my Improv skill, and perform regularly with a group called Saywhat?NYC in the Times Square area. Also, my martial arts background has given me a penchant for stage combat (I studied with Brad Lemons, who regularly choreographs fights for Broadway and for Feature Films.)

My favorite role I have played is Mercutio, from Romeo & Juliet. A dream role of mine would be the Joker.

My favorite actor is Jackie Chan (not so much for his dialogue). My favorite show is Whose Line is it Anyway? My favorite story is The Iliad. My favorite color is red. My favorite animal is a dragon (yes, I know it’s not real, and I don’t care!) My favorite number is zero. Therefore, my ideal pet must be some sort of gigantic, red, winged snake. I recently came just now had to come to terms with the fact that I will never own my ideal pet. It’s probably for the best. My favorite fictional character as a kid was a toss up between Batman and Tarzan (Achilles was up there, too.) When I was 5 years old I wanted to change my name to ‘Wolf’,’ but my mom wouldn’t let me.

Jobs that I have held (other than as an actor) include a Page in the Tennessee State Senate; Junior Carpenter; Assistant Martial Arts Instructor; Knife Salesman; Server; Bartender; Birthday Party Clown, ‘Yard Guy’, and Brand Ambassador. I am a Christian, a brother-in-law, and the proud uncle to a pair of beautiful nieces.

I went Skydiving on my 22nd birthday, and it is my full intention to get my skydiving license someday, as well as for SCUBA and piloting. Other passions include writing (I am currently working on a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel,) video games (when I have time - which isn’t very often,) coming up with new song parodies, and D&D - hands down the nerdiest thing about me. Okay, well... one of the things….One of the many, many...many things….

  For good time, call Len.
